Newest Norwalk Central Sponsor Announced:  Fareway Stores, Inc.

The City of Norwalk and Fareway Stores, Inc. have announced a partnership to name an indoor multi-sports court at the soon-to-be-built City State Bank Norwalk Fieldhouse (the City’s public recreation facility). As part of the agreement, Fareway will receive branding at the center court and near the free throw lines. The sponsorship for the ‘Fareway Court’, is a multi-year, exclusive naming rights opportunity.

“Fareway is proud to partner with the City of Norwalk on this state-of-the-art facility and the surrounding project,” said Norwalk Fareway Grocery Manager Craig Choate.

“Fareway’s commitment to the growing community of Norwalk started in 2007,” said Norwalk Fareway Market Manager Todd Hanson. “I’m proud to share that we’re continuing to invest and give back to the local community we serve.”

“The City of Norwalk has enjoyed a strong and healthy relationship with Fareway Stores and we’re grateful for their long-term commitment to this community. Not only are they building a brand new store at the entrance of Norwalk Central, but they’re also supporting the project and the community by sponsoring some of the internal components. We’re excited to see the area continue to develop and provide residents and visitors with exciting new opportunities and amenities.” Hollie Zajicek, Economic Development Director- City of Norwalk

Upon construction completion, the city building will have four full-size basketball courts, eight volleyball courts, a player’s lounge, a courtyard area, and concessions. The Norwalk Parks and Recreation Department will relocate services to the new office space inside the Fieldhouse.

“The Fareway Court will further complement Fareway Fields (Outdoor Turf Complex),” says Jake Shandri, Partner of Sportsman Solutions. “Fareway is a big part of this campus and we are fortunate to be able to showcase their brand to our audience. In addition, Fareway’s new grocery store location in Norwalk will be located at the corner of HWY 28/Sunset Dr. and the new Chatham Ave. east extension which will be the main street into the Norwalk Central development including the Gregg Young Auto Sports Campus area.”
