FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

City Of Norwalk Announces Newest Business Coming to Norwalk Central at The Gregg Young Sports Campus (GYSC)

NORWALK, IOWA – November 16, 2023 – The City of Norwalk, in conjunction with SportsPlex USA, Gregg Young  Sports Campus, Sportsman Solutions, and WB Realty, is thrilled to announce Mullets as the newest restaurant  to be built in Norwalk at Norwalk Central. The restaurant will be located at the west end of the new SportsPlex  USA building, east of the City’s new public recreation facility called the City State Bank Norwalk Fieldhouse.

Mullets, a popular Des Moines-based restaurant with a unique atmosphere and menu to match, is the first  occupant of the Sportsplex Norwalk retail building, located on the North end of the Gregg Young Sports  Campus. From the best Bloody Mary in Iowa to their distinct food and drink flights, Mullets is an unrivaled  concept.

Although Mullets Downtown is famous for its breakfast, the Norwalk location will serve breakfast, lunch, and  dinner daily. The vibe will still offer the sounds of 80’s and 90’s music that has patrons dancing in their seats,  as well as outdoor games and patio seating.

The 6000+ SF restaurant atmosphere will be elevated, with garage doors opening to the patio and a family friendly arcade.

John Royer, the owner of Mullets, partnered with Reynolds and Sheila Cramer for Mullets Norwalk. They are  excited to bring their concept to the Gregg Young Sports Campus and will be a great compliment to the current  Mullets Food Truck located inside GYSC on Fareway Fields, Benny’s Beans Coffee trailer, and Iowa's first  Amazon concept concession store. The anticipated opening is Summer of 2024.

Mullets recently opened its first franchise in Ankeny, Iowa, with several others in development.

“The City of Norwalk is incredibly excited to welcome this popular metro restaurant to our community. It’s  another fantastic and high-quality addition to the Norwalk Central development and will provide great options  for residents and visitors to Norwalk year-round. We’re proud to have such great partners involved in the  valuable community-based projects that are underway.” Hollie Zajicek, Economic Development Director, City  of Norwalk.
