Luke Nelson began the role of City Manager in Norwalk in 2016. Previous to that he served as a City Administrator in Iowa for eight years. Luke also has 12 years of experience as the director of a planning department where he served as the zoning administrator. Luke is a proud member of our local Rotary Club and the 100 Men of Norwalk.

One of Luke's proudest achievements as a member of the Rotary Club in Norwalk is obtaining grants for the Freedom Rock and the Bike FixIt Stations located along the Norwalk Trail System. Luke brings a strong sense of financial planning, strategic planning, and land use planning. All of these are key items for Norwalk as we see our community grow as part of the Des Moines Metro Area. He works hard to develop partnerships and build relationships.
