Youth Basketball Programs

Little Dribblers Basketball (Ages Preschool and Kindergarten in the Fall/Winter 2023) (Must be 4 years old by November 3, 2023!)
This program is for boys and girls in Preschool (4 & 5 years old) and Kindergarten. This activity teaches the beginning fundamentals of basketball. Volunteer coaches will be needed. T-shirts will be provided. Times will vary depending on the number of teams.

This is a coed league unless we have enough to assign boy/girl teams. League will practice one night a week and play games on Saturdays. T-shirts will be provided. Volunteer coaches will be needed. Times will vary depending on the number of teams.

Little Hoopers Basketball (Ages 3rd-4th Grade in Winter 2023-24)
This program is for boys and girls in 3rd and 4th grade .Our goal is to have fun while teaching the fundamentals of basketball. We will work on shooting, passing, and dribbling with an overall emphasis on good sportsmanship. This program will practice and play games on Saturdays. The boys and girls will be assigned to teams. Volunteer coaches will be needed. T-shirts will be provided. Times will vary depending on the number of teams.

January 6 - February 17, 2024 (no games January 20, 2024)

Dream Team Basketball (Ages 1st-2nd Grade in Winter 2023-24)

Dream Team Basketball 1st/2nd Boys is Full. Please email parksandrec@norwalk.iowa.gov to be added to the waitlist.

Adult Basketball Programs

Adult Pick-up Basketball games
Pick-up basketball games will be offered for adults. Please bring clean tennis shoes to wear for the games. This program is only for residents who live within the Norwalk School District.

Registration times: September 4, 2023 - March 6, 2023
Program days/times: Wednesday
October 4, 2023 - February 28, 2024 (No basketball on November 8 due to conferences, November 22 due to Thanksgiving, and December 27 due to Christmas break)
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Cost: $37.00 resident / $42.55 non-resident
Location: Norwalk Middle School Gym

Family Basketball Programs

Family Open Gym (All Ages Welcome)
Shoot hoops or play a pick-up game with friends or family. Bring clean tennis shoes for the floor. No registration required, just show up and play. For residents of Norwalk school district only.

Cost: Adult $1.00 Youth $.50
