Mission Statement
It is the continuous mission of the Norwalk Fire Department to excel in the preparation and delivery of emergency services and public safety. This will be accomplished through the tireless dedication for the preservation of life and property by the men and women of this department and their partners.

Norwalk has four full-time employees
to staff the station during hours that lack paid on-call staff availability. Rapid population growth - mostly among commuters, combined with a significant increase in calls for service has prompted the city to increase career staffing.

Department Bio
Our department covers Northwestern Warren County, Southwestern Polk County, and Northeastern Madison County Iowa, including the towns of Norwalk, Spring Hill, and Cumming. We operate a paramedic level emergency medical service with two ambulances. Our EMS staff includes 14 paramedics, 1 EMT-I, and 12 EMT-B's. Our apparatus includes two engines, tender, heavy rescue, two brush units, a 105' tower ladder, two ambulances, and two sport utility command vehicles. We have 43 outstanding employees. Besides fire and EMS, we specialize in heavy rescue and cold water/ice rescue.
