Adult Programs:
We offer an eclectic assortment of programming and services for adults and are always open to suggestions and requests from our patrons. All programs are subject to change; please confirm time and dates for each month on our calendar.
BOOK CLUBS FOR ADULTS
A Novel Year Book Club:
This adult book club meets for two sessions, every other month. The evening topics follow this order:
1st Session - Book Discussion at 6:30 p.m.
2nd Session - Film (based upon the book or related topic) at 6:00 p.m. or a guest speaker or program related to the book at 6:30 p.m.
Registration forms and program bookmarks are available at the circulation Desk. Books will be provided, by the library, for registered participants.

Novels at Night Book Club:
This book club is organized and led by community members. It meets the third Thursday evening, at 6:30 PM. Registration forms and program bookmarks are available at the circulation desk. The library will provide the books for registered participants.

CRAFT NIGHT FOR ADULTS
Craft Night usually happens the 4th Monday of the month at 6:30 PM! Adults have the opportunity to try new craft projects, while they socialize with other adults. Each month is a different activity and sometimes the participants are asked to bring some materials (ex: glass jars).
Registration is required for Craft Night with a $2 reservation fee (refunded at the event to participants). If you or someone you know has an interest to share a craft, please contact Adult Services.
Strings & Things Sewing:

Tuesday Talks features presentations by professionals on a variety of topics. These are usually scheduled on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 6:30 PM. If you or someone you know would like to give a presentation, please contact the Adult Services Librarian.

Workforce Housing
Join Norwalk leaders, business owners, developers and housing industry experts in a conversation about workforce housing on Tuesday, April 10th, 2018, from 6:30 – 8:00 PM, at Norwalk Easter Public Library. This is an informal discussion about issues and questions around the growing need and community response to workforce housing needs in Norwalk. The event will be streamed through Facebook Live and will allow a larger amount of community members to see and respond to the discussion.
Our Neighbors, the Amish
On Tuesday, April 24th, Don and Dianne Kramer of Dyersville, Iowa will present “Our Neighbors, The Amish,” at 6:30 PM. This presentation focuses on Amish lifestyle, beliefs and even a sampling of treats. Registration is required, so please sign-up at the library for this presentation.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Amish in April
April at the Norwalk Easter Public Library features a photo displays and fundraiser focused on the Amish in Iowa. Kristine Lyle, photographer for Kalona’s Welcome Center, shows her work of Iowa countryside and Amish communities around Kalona in a series of beautiful color photograph prints. Each print is $25, with a generous portion donated to the library for the beginning of our summer reading fundraising effort.

The library offers adult outreach programs to organizations and groups. We also offer technology help for patrons. Please call to make technology appointments or to schedule an off-site event.
